Thoughts on Class VI Partners acquiring Spark Growth Strategies and our future together as Class VI Pathfinder
You may have seen the news in my feed: Denver-based investment banking firm, Class VI Partners, has acquired Spark Growth Strategies. Class VI is merging Spark with their Advisory Services business to form a separate new entity, Class VI Pathfinder. I am stepping up as Class VI Pathfinder’s President.
It’s hard to relate in a press release the excitement I feel at this transformation. Chris Younger, Class VI Partners Managing Director, and I go back more than 20 years. We’ve spent many hours talking about what various businesses need to reach the next level and the ways we could help business owners achieve their dreams.
In launching Spark, I aimed to fill a gap I saw in the market for integrated, strategic, ROI-focused sales and marketing services. Helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses was my goal for years as I prepared financially, professionally, and personally to launch Spark and was my passion as I led the company since 2019, working with more than 100 business owners in that time.
What’s the Class VI mission? “Empowering the entrepreneurial spirit.” There simply couldn’t be a better match for the Spark team and me.
The Class VI acquisition of Spark included significant capital investment, which will enable rapid expansion of the company’s offering. The resources have also made possible several key hires. These include a Director of Business Development, Client Services Manager, Creative Director, Digital Marketing Director, and Program Director. The bench of talent will continue to grow over the course of this year and beyond.
We also gain the insights and expertise of an investment banking firm with over $2.5 billion in successful transactions under its belt, along with a business advisory team that has guided clients on their growth trajectory to some pretty amazing results.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. For Spark, now Pathfinder, the client will remain our top priority. Our mindset of never settling for mere satisfaction, always working to create raving fans, is one we share with the Class VI team.
That means the dedicated, white glove, do-anything-to-get-it-right treatment stays. The strategy-first focus stays. The core Spark team stays, with many stalwarts taking on expanding roles. And yes, even our Spark email addresses stay for a while, so no one has any difficulty finding us during this transition.
In the formal press release, I said that “When I founded Spark, our primary mission was to help entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and achieve their dreams. By joining forces with Class VI, we will be able to deliver on that vision like never before.”
That’s not just marketing language. This opportunity allows me greater opportunity and more tools to fulfill a purpose that has been at my core for decades.
To see one’s “why” become a business reality in this manner is incredibly fulfilling. The best part, Pathfinder will be helping more business owners enjoy this same incredible emotion I’m experiencing as we work together over the coming months, years, and decades.
Thank you to everyone who has made this possible and continues to believe in the entrepreneurial spirit. Let’s go!
